Recommend me 64-bit Vista software

I’ve just installed Vista 64, having heard many good things. Plus, experience with it is all to the good.

But I’m lacking software: not the big ones like email, Office, or a browser, but the little utilities like hardware monitors, fan controllers, the little utilities that make life so much easier.

So, what do Dopers recommend?

Well Vista 64 didn’t last long either: I’ve installed it on 2 drives (same batch from 2002) and both of them have overheated and died.

I’m going to bump this because I’ve put V64 on another box and it runs pretty well.

I just got a new PC with Vista 64-bit. I’m interested in the responses here too. The only issue I’ve had is installing Microsoft Silverlight. I subscribe to mlb.tv and you get some better features with it. Personally, despite all the bad press, I think Vista’s excellent. It has most of the 3rd party apps I used to use built in. Yes. I had to finally get rid of my 7 year old NEC printer, but it was time anyway. Plus, I got an HP IQ504 with a 22" Touchsmart touch screen that absolutely rocks. Coolest thing evah.

I’ve just been pointed at Start64 which has 64-bit news, software, and more.
