If you want bubbly, then sparkling water with a few drops of essence of peppermint. Sometime just a mug of hot water and essence of peppermint settles things down. Works for me, anyway. Mostly.
Tom Collins mix is very refreshing, even without the gin.
Right, or SM “Free” (diet). To me they are very refreshing.
Clearly Canadian?
Fruit flavoured, clear, fizzy. I like blackberry. Plus, no corn syrup.
If I can believe anything I learned on Gilmore Girls, it’s that Clearly Canadian is also sold in the US.
Have you tried 7UP? What about Sierra Mist? Fresca citrus is good, but it has grapefruit juice in it. (So, be careful about it if you are taking medicines that disallow you to have it.) I second Clearly Canadian, it’s good stuff. Also Perrier is quite good. I’d take a lemon or orange flavored Perrier on track meets instead of soda. It looks like they don’t make it in orange anymore though. Pity, I liked it. I believe I have had the lime flavor, and it’s good.
(ETA: Perrier at that time was cheaper than soda, and much more healthy for a track meet environment.)
Tonic water mixed with lime juice is my favorite fizzy drink, bar none. Very refreshing, the perfect summer drink, and it tastes something like a gin and tonic, to boot.

Club Soda usually contains sodium - people may be confusing the two.
I dig Polar brand Black Cherry seltzer and Lime Seltzer. lso like vanilla and mandarin orange, though these last two don’t come in 12-packs of cans, so I tend to stick with Black Cherry and Lime. Have never been able to stomach their Lemon flavor though.
I really like club soda, mixed with grape juice. It you want clear, then use white grape juice. If you are bothered by sodium, use seltzer. But mix your own with real grape juice…the flavored ones are blah.
That’s what I was coming in to say. That stuff is great. 
I also adore Perrier, specifically the lime, but the lemon and the plain are only slightly behind. Any carbonated water is good to me. (I didn’t know all carbonated water was seltzer - I always picture seltzer in the squirt bottles from Archie Comics.)
