Any ideas ? I’m after something fairly readable that talks about the history of cold war nuclear strategy (the development of “Mutually Assured Destruction” and the like). I’m particularly interested in the influence Game Theory had on it, if that makes a difference.
Have you read Prisoner’s Dilemma, William Poundstone’s book on game theory? It’s not all about cold war nuclear strategy, but it does touch on it.
Don’t know if these are helpful, because I read them in the 70s, and I don’t remember much about them:
- Strategy in the Missile Age (can’t remember author) and
- Metaphors and Scenarios, by Herman Kahn.
That’s all I got!
