I have an Android phone, that I love. But every screen protector that I have found so far SUCKS! Either they come loose and bubble up within a few weeks, or they are expensive and difficult to install and never look good from the get-go. From cheap generic ones, to expensive Zagg skins, I always come away disappointed.
Any recommendations? I’m willing to pay big bucks if it is easy to install, easy to eliminate bubbles, and lasts a long time. Help!
PS - don’t need answer fast.
I had a Zagg skin for my phone initially. I eventually took it off a year after getting it, since it was getting gross. I used that phone another six months before getting another phone. The naked screen never received a single scratch.
That new phone I got never received a screen protector. It’s the phone I have now, and nearly a year and a half later there are zero scratches on the screen. Looks brand new. I carry it in my pocket all day long with jingling pocket change. I am not easy on it at all. No scratches.
In other words, I think screen protectors are a waste of money. No need for them.
I personally don’t use them. I used to, but I got sick of trying to replace them every few months when they got dirty and scratched up*. But, what I found works best is to buy them at the cell phone store and ask the person working there to put it on for you. They have the most experience and can usually put it on in one try with no air trapped under it.
*Remember, plastic/vinyl scratches really easily, so just because the protector gets scratched doesn’t mean it saved your glass screen from any real damage.
Thanks, guys. I suspected that the whole screen protector business might be a scam to sell unnecessary products. Maybe I’ll give it a try and go naked. Especially as my phone is over a year and a half old and due to be retired before long.
