Say I want to grow nectarines in my backyard. Which cultivar should I get?
I live in Gardening Zone 6 or 7, depending on which map you’re looking at. My back yard isn’t unusually sunny or shady, I don’t think. I like nectarines that are hard and crunchy. I’m willing to try most versions of “flavorful”. Uhm… I don’t know which animals might be a problem.

Dave Wilson recommends Harko, Juneglo or Arctic Blaze. No comment on crispiness except that Arctic Blaze is supposed to be good crisp or soft.

I’ve just read a couple things about them and they seem hard to grow. But you might also check your state’s agriculture website and see what they say about growing them there.
Looks like I’m in 5b. Any hope?
