I just started a new job and they only had a mostly crappy chair that they apologized profusely for. So they told me to look for a chair that would be comfortable and what not. They gave me a budget of $150.00 (Hey, it’s a small company).
So what kind of chair should I get? I have no idea. Everywhere I have worked before always had chairs that never quite “fit” right.
So a bit of information…
*I am 5’3"
*I am a bigger girl (I wear a 16)
so it needs to be comfy for a short semi fat girl
*I would prefer a chair with arms
*I would prefer a rolling chair.
*I would prefer a high back chair.
Find yourself an office supply store, and go sit in all their chairs. They will have dozens, and what looks like it is comfortable, and what really is, can be two totally different things.
Make sure you pay attention to the lower back supports. I’ve had chairs where the seat was really comfortable, but the back support hit me in JUST the wrong place, even when adjusted.
I got my office chair at Staples. It’s leather, high-backed, has arms, and is very adjustable. It was a mere $99.00, and one of the selling points was that it was pretty much pre-assembled, you just had to snap up the back or something. It’s very comfy. I’m not short, but I am large (I weighed about 280 when we bought the chair, though I weigh considerably less now).
