Anything by Sheryl Crow, excepting the “Sheryl Crow and Friends” CD. The musicianship is phenomenal, the lyrics range from core human issues to frivolous, and the layering of instrumentation is deep, rich and balanced.
If you like blues ,I highly recomend Tinsley Ellis’ “Kingpin” or “Fanning the flames” - actualy any of his cd’s. What that man can do with a guitar is absolutly amazing.
I also greatly enjoyed Stephen Jay’s “Tangled Strings”, though it is impossible to put that into any catagory.
