Part One of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence - Dream Theater
John Williams in general isn’t a bad choice.
We’ve already included the Jurassic Park Theme. I remember playing that in middle school band. Good stuff.
Carmina Burana (specifically the last movement, the one everyone recognizes immediately) is the obvious choice here.
Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf. Rock opera at its most deliciously grandiose.
Theme From Crimson Tide - Hans Zimmer
Hummel Gets the Rockets (Theme From The Rock) - Hans Zimmer
Main Theme From Gladiator - Hans Zimmer
Now We Are Free (Gladiator) - Hans Zimmer
Pirates of the Carribean - Hans Zimmer
Pearl Harbor Theme - Hans Zimmer
Scorponak Attack (Transformers) - Hans Zimmer
Launch (Theme From Armegeddon) - Trevor Rabin
To The Stars (Theme From Dragonheart) - Randy Edelman (start about 1:12)
Cora (Last of the Mohicans) - Randy Edelman
Terminator 2 Theme - Brad Fidel
Book of Days (Far and Away Theme) - Enya
And the most ridiculous ridiculously epic song of all time:
My Heart Will Go On (Theme From Titanic) - Celine Dion
That should get your team fired up to build some synergy
Man. I’ve been really enjoying this thread (I know, I know, I started it—but these suggestions are amazing). I feel like beating somebody up. Or taking up black magic.
Anything from Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell Album except “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad.”
Pink Floyd’s Atom Heart Mother.
“Battle Without Honor or Humanity”, from the Kill Bill soundtrack.
How about some nice light Finnish Cello music?
Finland is known, of course, for its gentle folk music.
The thread could have stopped right here.
Just remembered I saw a chamber music concert at the SF Symphony that featured Kodály’s Duo for Violin and Cello, Opus 7 that was positively chilling.
Drums of Gaugamela—Vangelis, Alexander
Freedom Fighters—Two Steps from Hell
The End of All Things—Howard Shore, The Return of the King
Flying Messenger—By Dewolfe (Monty Python fans might recognize this one)
I’m a little surprised no one mentioned Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell (I think, following video gives that credit)
I’m watching the NBA and was reminded of that John Tesh theme song. I have to say, sometimes, Tesh kills me:
That’s been also called “Requiem for a Tower” on this thread. Which is it? Both titles rule, by the way.
Yeah, I missed that in the post above mine because I searched for “Lux.” Oops!
Requiem for a Tower uses the themes from Requiem For A Dream (aka Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell) that were adapted for The Two Towers trailer.
Good knowledge. Thanks.
