What’s a good way to set up conference calls?
I will need to set up a series of conference calls over the next year or so. Someone suggested freeconference.com, and the price seems right. Does anyone use it, or what are the other options out there?

How many people? We do conference calls using Skype with 4 computers between Brazil, America and Czech Republic. Works fine 90% of the time, but occasionally have to drop the call and call back. The quality is helped by everyone having good headsets…the mic and speakers on laptops work, but sometimes there is feedback. But, for free, we live with the inconvenience.

We’ll have three to five people on the phone, though I could also see this being a nice thing for family “reunions” of ten or more (wow, that seems noisy now that I think of it!) I signed up for freeconference.com for this week’s calls, but I’ll check into Skype (I’m not sure if everyone has a PC.)
I’d also like to hear about other people’s experiences.
My company just signed up for freeconferencing.com a month or so ago. We tested it a bunch of times with the 3 of us and then I did a live 90-minute call with 6 people.
The Web interface is really nice. There’s a lot of cool free features. The “mute” function was nice because my partner was able to listen in while holding his crying baby.
Some of the things seemed a bit buggy - like when we were testing I had a hard time connecting. I would call and get a welcome message but no option to join. But this was maybe once out of 10 times I tried. I also noticed when I was initiating the call myself that the “announcement” feature didn’t work right away so I didn’t know when people came on to the call.
The one downside is that it’s not a toll-free number but the price of the service itself can’t be beat.
It sounds great (weak pun intended)!
Well, I’ll see how it works in an hour. Thanks!
Well, we just finished a 90 minute call without any problems. Thanks to everyone for the help.
