Randomly finding myself in Hobart for a few days. Since this was not planned, I know almost nothing about the city - anyone have any recommendations for restaurants/things to do? Thanks!
When I was there I was going to go on a Harley ride up the mountain. It looked like a lot of fun, but the mountain was covered in clouds the only day I could go. If you can take a day tour to Port Arthur. You can see more about what I did there and some links at my trip report .
Seafood at one of the places in the Salamanca market area.
A tour of the lovely Cascade brewery.
The top of Mt Wellington - supposedly the cleanest air in the world.
Thanks for reminding me. For seafood, go to Mures, right down on the docks. The downstairs is casual dining, the upstairs is supposed to be a bit more upscale. The fish & chips I had downstairs was very good.

Salamanca Markets on a Saturday morning, the galleries and small craft shops down near the wharf are beautiful too.
North Hobart has some interesting Restaurants and a great art house cinema.
If you have time for a trip up the east coast check out the Freycinet Penninsula and Wineglass Bay. Nothing short of stunning!
Enjoy, Tassy is a jewel on the face of the earth. Pity you don’t have more time there.
