Welcome to the club, brother!
About time another state joined the club. So which state is next?
Note that this only legalizes possession and growing your own. No retail sales. Will Vermont get that some time?
It is now, and truly the GREEN MOUNTAIN STATE!!
Does this mean NH legalizes cocaine next???
I hope Session’s BP just went up 20 points.
This really, really is the time to consider becoming a farmer. I see a big future in it.
The article is kind of ambiguous on that point.
I take that to mean the commission will develop a plan that will get rubber stamped by the legislature because the law will already allow it. It just needs guidelines and regulations.
The state doesn’t allow ballot initiatives in the first place (for whatever reason) so legislative measures were the only means.
I have to wonder what inspired the governor, or whoever, to initiate the bill? They usually give at least a token reason - agricultural diversity, tax revenue, medical uses etc. Has anyone in Vermont legislature released any statement to that effect?
Which legalised state has the best location (weather wise) for growing marijuana?
Generally, far northern California and adjacent parts of Oregon is considered to have the best climate for marijuana. And guess what, there’s already lots of people there already doing that. Some of them are even doing it legally according to the laws of those states.
Any state with buildings. (Indoor grow enthusiast here)
But yeah, California/Oregon for outdoor grows.
Step by step.
I don’t know. It would depend on the state. Here in MA it is legal to own and grow. But you can only have six plants per person per residence (for up to two residents) And while you can grow it, it is illegal to sell it. So you can only grow it for personal use, and to give away. (meanwhile, it’s been legal here for a few years now, and they still won’t allow any place to sell it recreationally. Medical use only)
As we’ve learned from Washington, DC, this is really the key part. There’s no point to having legal weed if there’s no way to acquire weed legally (aside from growing your own, which is just not practical for probably 99% of people).
I assume this was autocorrected from “a toking reason”.
I think New Jersey might be the next due up. We get our new Governor shortly and he said he would get it done in his 1st 100 days.
…but then I got high…

How does that work when you’re in Arkansas?
So there’ll be wall-to-wall dope shops near the Jersey ends of the bridges from NY and Philly. Or at the first few freeway off-ramps. If someone wants to get in on the next big thing, that may be it.
Better save up for a huge plot of land though and all the industrial farming equipment to go with it:
