I’m curious about all the various redneck-y terms of endearment for a wife or girlfriend. I know there’s “old lady”, and probably some others lingering in the recesses of my brain that I can’t quite pull out. What other terms are there?

I’m just here to say that I’d think “old lady” would be working class, not specifically redneck. Because the only person I can think of who uses that term is an Irish hooligan from South Boston, which is not at all redneck in my opinion.
Mom.
Yeah, "old lady’ was something I always though bikers said, but I’ve heard other people use it as well. Let’s figure out what we mean by redneck. I’ve seen rednecks from Canada, Germany, Maine, California, and even England.

“Redneck” refers to a particular subculture from rural parts of the US. It’s roughly synonymous with “Hillbilly”. And “mom” in this context refers not to incest, but (presumably) to “mother of my children”: If the husband calls his wife “mom”, then she probably calls him “dad” or “pop” or an equivalent.
My husband refers to me as ‘The Wife’. :dubious:
