Why are you absolving the rapists from blame? I think rapists perpetuate rape culture. It is unfortunate that rapist apologists like you clutter up the discussion.
(I couldn’t resist, only because you completely ignored my other post.)
She doesn’t read. She just froths.
Jim, simmer down. I’m fucking around. Except about rachel being a willfully illiterate troll. I’m dead serious about that.
This does not make sense to me.
If we assume, like I believe, that rape is a sexually motivated, it follows that reduction in motivation in a situation will reduce risk. Consider the example of woman “laying” in multiple men’s laps in a party, motivating one of them to put his hand down her underwear.
You are again doing the same thing as others have done previously, which is picking an analogy of physical assault where the victim could not have reduced risk and applying it to all instances to assert that in all physical assault cases, the victim could not have reduced risk. A fallacy.
There’s nothing they could have done about it.
The cartoonist could have been more sensitive towards Muslims and prevented this one. Just common sense. You wouldn’t wear a Nazi uniform and go to a Jewish gathering, would you? (I’m not discussing rights)
There’s nothing they could have done about this one either.
Being female is not stupid, passing out drunk in a dangerous area around strangers is. This is what’s being discussed.
Male sexual arousal is caused by females and vice versa. However that’s not an excuse to rape and no-one is suggesting this.
Clothes have little to do with putting yourself at higher risk, actions have a bigger impact.
Again, passing out does make one more vulnerable, thus increasing risk. Therefore, actions do affect risk.
Now, if we should not talk about this because its not politically correct is the real debate. I say we should, simply because this is a serious matter.
I’m stating facts when I say that your opinions are perpetuating the rape culture in this country, and your refusal to face that fact is ignorant. You’re damaging and personally insulting victims of rape by subjecting them to your convoluted word-twisting bullshit shenaniganery. Are you as guilty of victim-blaming as, say, Redpill? No. But you’re still guilty.
Your response to my serious question to you was brushed off because you didn’t think you should have to answer to me. Fair enough. I’m done being serious, and I don’t have to answer to you, either. I hope you choke on a fat, spicy corndog.
rachel, why do you think it’s okay to strangle children? Please answer me.
