refurbished items?? [Flat-screen TVs]

Hi everyone! I’m currently researching for a great deal on a flat screen HDTV and I found on an internet website a refurbished Panasonic Viera TH-42PX80U 42-inch 720p Plasma HDTV for around $830.00

What does refurbished really mean?? Could I be buying a lemon??
Does anyone have this particular TV? Anyone has any recommendations on great deals for high quality flat screens? I’m looking for something under $1000 that’s bigger then 36 inches…

Refurbished means it was returned for some reason.

You know Best Buy has it for 1099 now brand new and if you have it installed there is a $200.00 rebate floating around out there.
