Refused Red Cross, now I feel like a jerk.

I’ve been donating blood to the Red Cross pretty regularly, so they give me a date and say you can donate again in six weeks. Seven weeks later the phone rings and they’re having a blood drive tomorrow. I say I can’t make it. Pause, okay maybe next time.

Now I may have imagined the hurt feelings vibe, but I still feel like a jerk. I don’t have anything major going I just hate having to re-arrange my plans on short notice.

Sigh :frowning:

They must have taken too much blood from your ballsac last time.

Eight weeks.

And you can always pick the time you want to donate, instead of feeling like you have to go to a specific blood drive.

So you actually have plans, as opposed to just saying no due to some kind of reflex?

I can tell you’re going to be a sucker for pledge solicitations unless you can change your attitude. :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t sweat it. Ususally the Red Cross has a blood drive going somewhere in the area just about every day. At least around here they do – they move around major employers and cycle back to each location every couple of months.

Give them a call and ask for the next available date in your county (or in range of where you can get to).

Just find another blood drive nearby or make an appointment at one of the donation centers.

Here’s a good place to start.

Dude, they always have a blood drive going on some place. And you can drop by their office and donate anytime you like. Jeesh, if you’re going to feel guilty about something, go kick a puppy.

Thank you for giving! Don’t sweat it and go the next time you can.

(I can’t give anymore, due to meds. :frowning: )
