regarding steroids and other such things fed to cows.

I was wondering if it was POSSIBLE (not proven or studied. Just interested in if its theoretically possible) for the growth hormones and steroids that are fed to cattle to find its way into our systems and act on them in a similar manner.

This question was brought up by a discussion where it was pointed out that certain chemicals can make their way through various steps in the food chain (such as how insecticides affected predatory birds via the insect eating birds they hunted).

Also, would said chemicals, steroids and all such affect how we digest the meat?

The USDA sez “Not to worry.”

So it looks like the answer to your question would be, “Yes, the hormones get into you, but it’s in such small amounts that it’s not a danger.”
