Regional Liquid Refreshment

There is a little burger joint out here near Fife, WA that sells Green River (from the fountain, not a bottle). I love it, but then I am partial to lime-flavored things. We only go to that burger place a couple times a year, though, so I don’t get to have it very often.

I didn’t realize Jones Soda was sort of a Seattle thing; the first place I saw it in large quantities was at the Harry & David outlet store in Oregon about 10 years ago. I’ve never been brave enough to try it, but I understand that some of the more mainstream flavors are nice. They had a Seahawks-themed set a while ago, and I think one of the flavors was “grass” or “turf.” :dubious:

I know it wasn’t regional, but I still miss Jolt Cola, which, in the 80’s and early 90’s, tasted exactly like Coca-Cola used to in the 70’s.

Now I want to go combing little grocery stores for unusual sodas…

Oman Dew… similar to Mountain Dew, but a bit closer to Squirt (grapefruit flavor). I’ve never seen it in Dubai, but it can be found in Oman and (IIRC) Iran.

Here they sell Jones soda at the grocery and at Target. And the Mexican cokes here still have cane sugar (bottled in Monterrey).

Its particular to regions with large hispanic populations (as opposed to particular geographic regions) but I vote Coco Rico - it’s a coconut soda that tastes sort of like the juice inside a young coconut. It’s not very sweet - that catches people off guard.

Oh, and if “regional” includes the UK, there’s Fentiman’s. You can occasionally find it in the US, but not often. It’s brewed soda, so it has a tiny bit of alcohol and has that fermented flavor to it. I haven’t tried all of their products, but the ones I have sampled are fantastic.
