Regionalisms that stick in your head

In Minnesota we play “Duck, Duck, Grey Duck”. There was a thread on this subject some time ago.

NOTE: This thread was originally posted in 2000, so don’t go bumping it and whatnot. But it’s funny.

Please don’t let me fall into the pool of people who refer to my state as "Warshington.

In RI, a milk shake is referred to as a “cabinet” for some reason (unknown to me). There are also charming terms like “tonic” for soft drink. Also, RI is the most insular state in the nation: a journey from Woonsocket (Northern RI) to Providence (the state capital) is only undertake after long hard thought and much preparation.
Its about 20 miles…

I have a couple of them that I have noticed around the lower Arkansas Valley in Colorado.

-Youse (pronounced: use) It is the plural of “you” - Natives of the area when using “youse” sound (for that one word at least) like a huge road company of ‘Guys and Dolls’.

-saying “on accident” for “by accident”. It makes sense, I suppose. After all, the opposite is “on purpose.”

My sister does that. It drives me nuts.
I once knew a Manhattanite who had trouble dealing with the phrase, “You wanna come with?” Dropping the whatever it is at the end really put her off-kilter, I guess.
Can you tell that my explicit knowledge of grammar is exquisite?
