Rejoice! A FoxGnaws "Daily Show"!

But they already HAVE The O’Reilly Factor.

Um, no there isn’t.

I can’t say why, but when I picure a panels of pundits for this Fox satire, I see a group resembling the former East German Women’s track team.

Not long. Wikipedia has the story.

Hmmm, that’s true. Fox will have to find someone similar to Jon Stewart to host this thing…Jewish, a northeast liberal, and since it’s Fox News he’ll have to be extremely shrewish and malleable.

Oh my god! Alan Colmes is getting his own show!

Hannity will be crushed at this loss…they’ll have to find a new stuffed suit with which to beat mercilessly on air.

Oh, dear, do those rumors still persist? Hannity and Colmes, Seigfried and Roy…Lies! All lies!

Um…I actually was thinking more of his grief at losing a uh, valuable host/living strawman for all that is godless liberalism.

Thanks a lot, luci. The images don’t go away when I close my eyes!

True. Conservatives do comedy about as well as liberals do talk radio.

How about imaging Sean Hannity being ripped to shreds by a magnificent white Siberian tiger!

Would you settle for an aging mangy raggedy-maned lion with dental issues?

how about a siamese kitten with a head cold?

Of course, it could also be that lefties are much less willing to laugh at themselves than are people on the right. Or as the old joke goes:

Q: Why did the feminist cross the road?
A: THAT’S NOT FUNNY!

I have seen that it is closer to the truth to say liberals can not manage talk radio. At the same time Air America is going down, 2 other progressive radio groups (managed by more down to earth people) are coming forth with better programing and more reasonable franchise arrangements so progressive and liberal radio is here to stay.

Going local here: the progressive radio station was called Air America, but it included programming from other favorite liberal and progressive talk shows like Ed Shultz and Stephanie Miller’s

Then a Christian group bought out the owners of the station. Regardless that there were many other Christian radio stations and the progressive station had good ratings, the new owners closed the shop (I don’t believe in coincidences, that maneuver was done in other states to silence progressive radio)

But, it was not the end of the story, local support came forth, and new owners purchased a station and AA was back on the air in less than a month. Trouble was that AA mismanagement showed up: Ed Shultz and Stephanie Miller did not come back, seems AA demanded and got more control of the programming, then the more outrageous but fun to hear Mike Maloy was fired by AA and you should have seen the backlash AA had.

After the AA bankruptcy, the Phoenix progressive radio station dumped the forced programming and they are getting a different name since Mike Maloy was put back on the air and it is a lot of fun to hear him throw pot shots at the management of AA.

But the bottom line is, liberal radio will continue over here in Phoenix.

Come on now luci, et al…

If your way of thinking truely represents the truth and the light, surely it can withstand a little mockery from the unenlightened.

To not welcome such an effort as a manifestation of diversity of thought smacks of…dare I say it…intolerance.

 Huh? Who’s not welcoming it? Look, it even says “Rejoice!” right there in the thread title. The whole point of this thead is precisely that liberal “ways of thinking” will indeed be able to “withstand a little mockery” from the clumsy and shrill carping that passes for political humor among the folks at Fox News.

Lessee, between Sam Stone and Evil One, that makes two weak attempts at cutting down liberals, both of which demonstrate that they haven’t even read the thread. Who else thinks this new “comedy” show will follow the same formula?

Old and corny.

Do you honestly think the Daily Show will go off the air if a dem is elected president? I seriously doubt it. The show makes fun of politics. Having a show just to bash democrats isn’t the same thing.

Especially since it’s been running since 1996, when a Dem was president.

Have you seen Stewart go after Kerry?

“And the big convention kickoff. Monday’s theme: ‘The Kerry-Edwards plan for America’s future.’ It was a powerful message lacking only Kerry, Edwards, and a plan for America’s future. In its stead: dance party!” --Jon Stewart

“The prisoner scandal is yet another election year problem for President Bush. And, with the economy still struggling, combat operations in Iraq dragging on, and the 9-11 hearings revealing damning information, even an opponent of limited political skill should be able to capitalize on those problems. The Democrats, however, chose to nominate John Kerry.” --Jon Stewart

“Insiders have begun voicing serious concerns about how he’s conducting his campaign. One aide told the New York Times that while Bush’s message of ‘steady leadership’ has remained consistent, Kerry has gone through six different messages in the 18 months he’s been running, including, at one particularly desperate juncture, ‘Kerry: Health care jobs for the troops’ environment.’” --Jon Stewart

“Please explain to me why John Kerry sounds more dickish telling the truth than Bush sounds when he’s lying. How is that possible?” --Jon Stewart
