What is a word meaning “religion of the self”?
By “self-religion”, I’m asking for a term that best describes the belief in human potentials, as a lifeform, as a self-aware entity. A person who takes responsibility for his own existence, and branches out from there.
MINUS the element of conceit
What if you take out the ‘human’, and make it generally ‘the self’?
The word I’m looking for is probably painfully evident; I just can’t be satisfied with ‘selfism’.

What about existentialism?
A philosophy that emphasizes the uniqueness and isolation of the individual experience in a hostile or indifferent universe, regards human existence as unexplainable, and stresses freedom of choice and responsibility for the consequences of one’s acts.
I’ve never heard the term used, but you might call it something like “ipsism”, from Latin “ipso” meaning “self”.

I think ultrafilter nailed it.
Humanist Manifesto.
I vote for Satanism, but then I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for old Scratch. Humanism will work too.
Yeah, Satanism was the first thing that came to mind for me. Humanism probably fits better, though, if I understand both concepts correctly.
