Remember remember the 5th of December,
reallowing all beers, gins, and scotch,
I see no reason, the “Lack of Beer” treason, should ever be forgot.
Amendment two shy of twenty
when beer was so plenty
that the Congress said ‘enough’!
Prohibition was itchin,
(Molly Hatchet was a bitchin’)
apparently things were so rough.
The war was just over,
our boys had come home,
and some enjoyed beerish foam.
Then Feds cut it off,
claiming “Thou shalt not quaff!”
which gave rise to guys like Capone.
Then in the year thirty-three,
way before you and me,
that the Congress thought it over.
The situation was a mess,
tho no fault of Elliott Ness,
to which then we all could drink with another.
Happy Repeal of Prohibition Day!

Please, enjoy your Amendments responsibly.
Nah . . . I may partake here and there, but part of it is also a celebration of the repeal of a Constitutional amendment that actually limited freedom rather than enumerating them for protection.
Down with limits! Down with ‘last calls!’

I never, never drink and shoot, but that’d be one hell of a tribute.
