I tried to find some information online for local cost-to-build without luck.
I would like to build - but with the recession, has the cost gone up?
Should I just start dumping money into improving the modular home (there’s so much to do)?
Does anyone know if the cost of manufactured homes are up or down?
What general geographic area do you live, and what is your definition of a modular home? Do you mean by modular, a manufactured home (pre-built in a factory and then transported by truck to the site)? From what I understand, there are certain areas of the country that have a well established manufactured home industries (Pacific Northwest) and contractors with the expertise to install them. Obvious, transportation costs can vary significantly.
I’m no expert, but I’m intrigued by the concept of modular homes. I was looking at some coastal land in Northern California and was looking at a lot of different types of manufactured homes. Most of the manufactured homes were theoretically just as good as site built homes.
