Why don’t you use a regular old stud with a back for a few days? Or a niobium ring?
I don’t think that’d be a good idea unless I know what I’m doing.
Infections, I assume, CAN be treated.
JUST a quick question before I visit my piercer tomorrow-worst case scenario: IF it were an abscess, would I have to lose the piercing?
I’m sure it’s fine and not an abscess. Is this your first not-an-ear piercing? Just do the salt water thing and STOP TOUCHING IT. When you wash your face, don’t scrub near your nose. If you’re not doing the salt water thing religiously, start.
When my nose went hinky for a bit I used one of the gold post studs I had from when I’d had my ears done. Wasn’t happy about the backing thing inside my nose but it worked.
If you’re on LiveJournal, there’s a community for buying and selling body jewelry.
I recommend the retail “sides” of Monster Steel and Metal Mafia
I don’t think so. If I remember what I read on a couple of piercing sites, it’s best not to take it out, and just care for it with warm sea salt soaks and not irritating it if you can at all help it. Hope your nose heals up soon!
It’s fine! Chris (the guy who did my nose), just said it’s a little blister, or whatever, from friction. Basically, it’s a hard pocket of blood and pus that’s built up (but cannot break), and what I need to do is make a paste of crushed aspirin, and apply it. (He said as much as I can, and to use it while I’m sleeping.) And then it’ll be fine in about a week or so.
Persaptions, huh? I’ll report just for that atrocity.
