Jeep Wranglers have the ability to lower their windshields so that they ride flat against the hood. I assume that this has some military use, as the Jeep was originally a military vehicle, but I haven’t been able to figure it out. It seems that for every situation I can think of, it would be better, I think, to have the window up.

The old willies jeeps has a machine gun mounted in the back. you really couldn’t raise it up and down much so you had to lower the windshield. also, if you get shot at, the window won’t protect you if the bullet is coming for you, however an off aim shot will shatter the glass all over you.

metroshane, didn’t they also lower the windshields so they could fit stretchers on them (serving as field ambulances)?
sounds good to me.
