Remove URL links to copy/paste in MS WordPad?

I have a printhead out on the printer so I can’t print anyting with color till it’s replaced. I want to print out a cast list from a movie on the IMDB. I have the list c’d & p’d to WordPad, and it still has the text written in hypertext.

Can I somehow change that so it just prints everything in B&W or am I stuck till replacement?

Thanks

You should just be able to go to File ---- Page Setup ---- Printer-----Properties and set it to print in black and white only.

Try ‘Paste Special’ under the Edit menu, and paste as unformatted text (I think).

I don’t know if you would be satisfied with a hyperlink-by-hyperlink fix, but you can right-click on each hyperlink, and from the resulting pop-up menu choose the “remove hyperlink” command. Presto-chango, blue and underline dissapears.

Hi, I don’t exactly understand if you are trying to remove hyperlinks or change the type face.

If the hyperlinks are URLs, e.g. http:\… , the easiest way is to use the Replace tab in the Edditing section of the Toolbar; then in the Find field, type “http:\” (without the quotation marks); then in the Replace field, leave it empty; and select the Replace All tab.

This will remove the http… portion of the hyperlink, revert to the default font colour (black), and remove the underlining.

If this is not the solution to your problem, please send the document to my email address (vanwykap at live dot co dot za) and I will have a look and reply what the solution is, if I have one or not.

Thanks and regards

Andre

Welcome to the SDMB, Andre van Wyk. Please note that the thread you are replying to dates back to 2005. Many of the original participants are likely no longer around to read or comment on your reply. We tend to refer to old posts that have been revived like this as zombies, and they often tend to result in more zombie jokes than anything else upon their revival (especially this time of year).

We do generally allow zombie threads around here, though we do ask that you only revive old threads if you have something new or relevant to contribute. This thread, however, happens to be software related, which means that any discussion from the original thread is likely to be very much out of date and applicable only to older versions.

Because of this thread’s age and the topic being software related, I think it’s best to put this poor zombie back in the ground and let it rest.
