Removing (straight piping) a resonator on exhaust system

I broke off the pipe at the exit of the resonator. I just would like to straight pipe it as it is cheaper and I’m not sure if it really does anything. Want to know any of the negatives of doing this.

The OEM design is from the engine, pre-cat, cat, resonator and muffler. It appears that all the emission stuff it upstream and the unit that makes it quite is downstream, this piece seems like a unneeded part, sort of like a appendix or nipples on a guy.

It will be louder and will more then likely introduce an annoying drone at certain speeds. Resonators are tuned to eliminate droning.

Speaking very generally, any modifications to the exhaust “downstream” of the final catalytic converter will not affect vehicle performance or drivability much at all. There may or may not be a droning noise that you may or may not find annoying if you straight pipe the section.
