AVG has found Vundo on my computer, but can’t seem to remove it. I downloaded a Vundo removal tool from Symantec but it says it can’t find Vundo.
Can anyone recommend a fix?

You might try this
I know that when I update it I get the message of the various types of spyware it is now blocking, and this usually includes some variant of Vundo - they they are well aware of it and may well have something to help you out.
Thanks. Luckily I have a second computer, since the infected one would not let me go to your link.
I have the infected computer booted in safe mode and am trying your suggestion now.
I’ve had this problem once, but it wasn’t an issue for long because the malware blocked only the english versions of the sites. Searching on Google the adress of the french/spanish/whatever version and downloading the anti-malware tool you need might be a solution even if you don’t speak the language. It shouldn’t be difficult to figure out where to click to download the programm.
I understand you don’t need to do that anymore, but I thought this tip could be useful to some future victim of a similar malware.
Third Vundo thread this month.
For the record, I hate SuperAntiSpyware. It’s kind of obnoxious. I recommend MalwareBytes.
Nothing I downloaded worked. I booted into safe mode and scanned with several different antivirus programs.
I ended up reinstalling Windows. I think that I might not have had to do that. While doing so I found to odd partitions on my C drive that were probably where the virus was hiding. I’m betting when I wiped them, it went away.
