Ok. this is a request, but it seemed to mundane for GQ. I’m looking, yes I know they dropped the REO a while ago, for Speedealer lyrics. I just know that, talented as they are, at lest half of you must be fans. Anyone who can help me out will get a very special present. Thanks.
Who the hell is REO Speedealer? I’ve heard of REO Speedwagon, but never the other. Is it a takeoff band?

No leads here, but I wonder how REO Speedwagon felt about them. They may have threatened to sue them for copying their name. Or they could have been smart and realize that their old fossil records (which would not surprise me if Rhino has them now) may start selling again as a result of Speedealer.
Or maybe Speedealer is tired of the pun.
IIRC, cooldude, REO Speedwagon threatened to sue them in the late 90’s, hence the name change.
Dunno if they helped REO Speedwagon sell any albums… I’d sure hope not.

Well thanks for everyone’s help anyway. Yes, Speedealer simply happens to be one of the best metal bands out there. They had the REO Speedealer name happily, infact REO Speedwagon knew about it and didn’t do anything until Speedealer signed with a major label. Then they went and sued them. Just shows they have no sense of humor.
Speedealer has songs with titles like
“Double Cluchin’ Finger Fuckin’”
“Cocaine Dave”
“Pig Fucker”
“Turkey Neck”
and
“Gotterdammerung”
If anyone else can decifer the lyrics, more power to you.
