So I borrowed a friend’s pair of sunglasses, but lost the rubber covering to one of the ear pieces. Can these usually be purchased from the manufacture (I couldn’t find any on Bolls site) or are there generic ones I can buy that’ll hopefully fit?
There was a thread on this before, but a different brand. As I recall, the solution was to return the glasses to the shop where they were purchased, not the original manufacturer…
First search attempt failed… waiting 300 seconds…
Here is the post I was thinking of, I guess Dinsdale got the customer-service-run-around at first, but eventually, they sent the tips to him for free.
Definitely try a store that sells that brand for a phone number.
I’ve been meaning to update that thread - same as I’ve been meaning to call the company back again after my most recent attempt at satisfaction failed.
I did, however, find some really good tape to wrap around the end of the temple piece in the meantime…
The neverending saga of Dinsdale and the Temples of Doom continues.

- Depends how old they are. If >5 years, almost certainly not.
- Depends on the model. Some are designed to wear and be replaceable, some aren’t. More likely to be replaceable if it’s a wire frame rather than plastic.
- Call Bolle USA at this number: 800.222.6553 - and give them the model name (should be printed inside the right temple) and they’ll tell you.
Thanks, I just tried that, but it seems the number has changed, since I got an unrelated company. Sadly, that was the only number I could find too.
I have received rubber ear tips from Bolle for free when I lost one for my sunglasses. All I did was call their customer service line and give them the model. I don’t remember what number I called, but I found it by just looking around their website.
Nevermind, that is the correct phone number, I’m just an idiot. I called and the very friendly rep helped try to locate the exact model (the ID number on the glasses was rubbed off) but couldn’t find it. I just sent her some pics though, so we’ll see how it goes!
Thanks all for the help
If you post a pic here I can probably identify them.
Now I know what Colibri feels like when someone asks about birds
Sounds good! Here ya go:

Nice looking shades.
But IMO they’d look even better with a hunk of packing tape wrapped around the ned of one of the temples.
It’s a pre-2003 model so I can’t be sure (don’t have catalogs from before then) but I think they’re called “Vanadium”. I suspect the best they may be able to offer is a discount off a new pair, since none of the current wire frames have a mastoidal bend (the kind that makes the ends hug your ears).
OTOH, the temple tips look pretty standard so you really ought to be able to find one that fits at your local optician.
Sorry - missed the edit window. I meant to say they *look like * Vanadium but they’re not.
Thanks Vanadium, appreciate the help! Hopefully I can find something that fits.
