BTW…when a lurker reads a post, doesn’t this count towards the total views? but if you’re not registered yet, then you can’t reply…this may in part explain the huge number of views on this relative to the number of replies…

I remember reading a recent thread that had a question and 30ish versions of the same answer from 30ish different people. All of them were almost identical. Somehow I don’t think this would be a problem if we got rid of that rediculous post-count under everybodys name.

I notice not everyone is replying to you! Very rude! You spelled out your objectives quite clearly. Oh well, I;m here for ya buddy.
I think people forget that the view count goes up every time ANYONE looks at the thread, including the people that have already posted and are coming back to read new posts. If Qwisp checked this thread everytime someone posted - that would boost the count to 35 automatically.

Actually I’ll probably stop bitching about it long before I rack up the numbers, since so many people seem to be so proud of being able to hit “submit reply” X times… the people I am bitching about would be devastated when that number disappeared, since that number represents the “status” that they have wasted their days trying to build…
Please don’t be offended though, I’m not trying to piss anybody off… just stating how pointless it all seems to me. I realize that not everybody is overly proud of their post-count, and not everybody develops a superiority complex when they reach X000 posts… So please don’t think I’m ragging on everybody who has more posts than I do, cause personally I don’t care how many posts you have.
