You just made me snort my gimlet out of my nose. It burns.
This perversion of language is real and deliberate strategy. Of course, so is the ridicule of those that point out the employ of said strategy.
Are you fucking kidding me? It’s not redefining a term, it’s you trying to apply an antiquated definition which just ain’t so. Maybe you need to recall a few lectures on nationalism from your history class, I don’t know. But spare me the overblown, federal case.
No, wait. I admit it. I’m part of a conspiracy to change your world view by altering the definition of the word of nationalism. Give me a break.
(Btw, YOU’RE the one who started with the 1984 bullshit. I just threw it back in your face.)
I don’t know how much more of this winning I can take. My stock market account continually gets stuffed with more and more Ben Franklins every day, every week and every month.
it must suck to be standing around, hating on Trump because you are part of the govt hand out crowd watching those of us who work for a living make more & more $.
“Work for a living” and “Watching my stocks increase in value” are not synonymous, though. Did you mean you were contributing more “Franklins” to your account on a weekly basis?
I don’t want to see the U.S. undergo a major recession, but tariffs for no real reason sounds like a big step in that direction.
I don’t know about the ‘government handout’ crowd. But I do find it interesting that you conveniently ignore the blatant corruption going on in the White House, including kowtowing to a foreign power, so long as your bank statement grows.
Have you really read that article? You’re the one engaging in the fascistic behavior, raising the hue and cry.
It is kind of a paradox, though. The party of small government riding on strong words of nationalism. This can only turn our well.
Were you equally thrilled when your portfolio soared in value under Obama? If not, why not?
To say nothing of our allies’ trust.
Hello everyone.
It appears tempers are heating up in this thread. Allow me to remind everyone that such things can get people in trouble here in the Elections forum. If you feel you MUST resort to strong language and insults, we have our lovely BBQ Pit forum for all of your insulting needs.
Its still tribalism, and historically tribalism over nationality is usually tied into tribalism over race, religion and other identifiers. Many times one is tied in with the other. Racists tend to be nationalists, nationalists tend to be racists.
The real question is is the rise in authoritarian tribalism that is occurring all over the world a blip (like pan arabism), or is it part of a long term pattern?
