Another poster - can’t remember the name or thread - going into the most fucked up verbal gymnastics about making the pettiest fucking distinctions between all the different hand gestures Trump apparently made, in relation to that handicapped reporter. The fact the poster went on and on, so fucking ad nauseam, about such a ridiculous (and ultimately irrelevant to the OP) premise, to me, constituted trollery.
I remember that recent thread, but it also reminded me of this older one about whether or not a president should return salutes from military personnel. I got a tad snarky at post 65 and lance armstrong insisted on taking the subject seriously, so we were off to the races, culminating in one of my most proud-ish moments on this board at post 103.
But as for someone showing OCD about a trivial matter, I’m not sure that should count as trolling. It might be a symptom of actual, well… OCD.
Which is a shame, because he was far more capable of upholding his end of a fucking debate than Clothy or Billfish.
I’m sure all of these people have been reported as trolls before. It comes with having such an unclear trolling policy for the Pit, and the fact that these guys are fucking assholes. (I’m also aware that at least one person has reported me as a troll before. A long-term poster who was so sure I’d get in trouble he bragged about it on another board.)
But I don’t think that anyone in this thread is saying these people are breaking the rules. As you’ve admitted, some trolling is allowed in the Pit.
Hell, I was once lectured by Colibri about how he could call someone a troll in the Pit but not think they violated the anti-trolling rules.
