This is a recipe for a frozen drink. Alcohol has a much lower freezing temperature than regular juice or ginger ale. Part of the appeal of including alcohol in a frozen drink recipe is that it won’t freeze totally solid; it will remain slushy for much longer and at lower temperatures than something that doesn’t have alcohol in it. So you will have to be much more careful about how long and how cold you freeze it. Otherwise, you have popsicles instead of granitas.
