One of my co-workers has Cushing’s Syndrome. It is a somewhat rare and little understood disease. An estimated 10 to 15 million people have it, but it is often misdiagnosed because so few people are aware of it.

My friend is started an e-mail and letter writing campaign to the Oprah Winfrey Show in hopes that she will devote a program to this illness to make the public aware of it. My friend believes that Oprah would be the best way to get the message out.

And this is not to minimize the effects from Cushing’s, but the numbers are a little off. It should be "10 to 15 out of every million are diagnosed each year.
