All I could figure was some kind of medal as well. I wouldn’t think it was a military medal though.
According to a news report I saw, it was a medal that his grandfather was awarded. I didn’t get any other details on it, however.

He did mention his grandfather being a cinematographer during the second world war, and touched the medal as he did. Guess I should have waited to ask the question.
He said in an interview afterwards that the medal was his grandfather’s MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire), awarded for his services as a war photographer in WWII.
