OK, this is a little esoteric, but opefully someone can help me. I’m tangentially involved in a program to design an active vibration absorber for military rifles. We were working with people who had experience in the military equipment area, who assured us that there was a need for such a thing. However, for various reasons, their expertise is no longer available.
So now, we need to justify the statement, “Troops would benefit if their rifles were held steadier.” Unfortunately, I’ve got no background in rifle research, so my question is:
Where would I find articles or books or reports about “Needed Improvements in Military Rifles” or some such? Are there journals that would contain this subject? Accessable military reports?
Something scientific would be best (as opposed to popular press), but I’m open. I’ve also got access to a fairly good university library. Note I’m not asking someone to do my homework for me (although if you want to…), I just want to know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.
