I look like my mother’s side of the family and my personality is much like hers. My father sometimes referred to her as my “twin mother.”

My parents’ wedding picture is on the wall in their house. My 4 year old nephew once asked my mom, “who’s that lady in the picture with Uncle Enginerd?”
When I still lived at my parents home and answered the phone, people would always mistake my voice for my mothers’ voice.
I try to resemble my mom as little as possible. If my husband really wants to get at me, all he has to say is “if you do that, you look just like your mother”. Them’s fighting words.
Facially, i’m the spitting image of my mother’s aunt. Which is odd, because she was ( mixed) Black and i’m blonde.
Psychologically, I’m my dad. He tinkers in mechanics, I tinker in social projects. I even have most of his neurotic traits. But I have years of therapy on him, so I can explain to him nicely the stupid stuff we both do.
