Well, I can’t get a reservation for the Uffizi for any of the days June 12-14. As I hate standing in line, is there any other way to get the reservation. I had heard rumors that it can be done at a couple of other museums. Is there any special place to go or things to do that can perhaps snare a reservation for 4? I am not, at all, talking about cheating, but trying for information that might not be well known, and allow me to get my reservations.
We went through our hotel when we were there two years ago. We just told the desk clerk what museums we wanted to go to, went out for a couple of hours and when we came back she had all our reservations lined up for us.
Of course that means waiting until you get there so you may not want to do that.
Even if you don’t get into the Uffizi make absolutely certain that you make it to the Accademia. I’m not particularly an art person (or a religious person for that matter) but Michelangelo’s David is still one of the most awe inspiring things I have ever seen.
ETA: I just noticed that I didn’t answer half your question. Yes, you can get tickets for the Uffizi at several other museums (including the Accademia and a few others) but since we didn’t go that route I’m not sure if they can get better availability for you or not.
We were staying at a fairly nice hotel and were able to get someone at the front desk to get them for us for a tip. We still had to wait in line but the line was considerably shorter.
Bumped with an update.
I last went in 2001, so sorry.
I don’t know if it’s still offered, and it depends on weather but another fascinating thing is getting tickets for a tour down the Vasari Corridor, the elevated walkway from the Uffizi to the Boboli Palace across the bridge. We had to book well in advance.
That’s only 6 years before the thread was started, so it’s probably fairly current to the OP.
