I am currently using the P90X program and need new resistance bands. I can buy them cheaply at Walmart or Canadian Tire, or I can buy the more expensive ones at the fitness supply store.
Is it worth it?
have you tried looking on craigslist or somewhere else for used stuff? Fitness equipment is one of those things people buy and use twice, if that, before being read to sell it. Take advantage!
Does P90X actually work? I’ve been curious, but I’m suspicious of anything that’s so popular, especially with celebrities…
I am probably not the best person to ask, since I juststarted it (ask me in 90 days :))
BUT
I will say it’s very similar to a lot of ther “boot camp” style workouts I have done with the military trainers, or what I used to do with my personal trainer, so I would say if you keep it up it should work.
It won’t work for the looking for a magic pill crowd, or the I want to work out for 4 minutes, 3 times a week crowd.
It is a well designed workout program that will get you results if you stick with it.

I can’t give an authorative answer to your specific question, but I would be very surprised if the resistance bands from Walmart didn’t work just fine.
The hubby and I are eagerly awaiting the arrival of P90X as well! I have two friends who swear by it!
I usually buy my bands at a fitness store, only because I’m worried about cheap ones falling apart during use and snapping myself in the eye, or some other sensitive spot.
