I have no idea of what you are trying to say here. The NRA is simple 100% against any sort of gun control, even the nifty bipartisan gun control bill Biden got passed- which incidentally did not restrict the rights of gun owners- basically Bidens bill tightened up background checks, and put the kibosh on straw man dealer- those crooks who buy like a dozen 9mm, then resell them to gangbangers. Illegally of course. When the nRA came out against that, it became clear that the NRA is no longer really sane.
It also has been racked by corruption, scandals, lawsuits and membership loss. The old NRA is gone.
Which would seem to contradict the assertion that “common-sense gun laws” are stifled by the supremely powerful and corrupt influence of “the gun lobby”.
Since even drafts of the Second Amendment originally included an out for conscientious objectors, I presume they’d settle for your being willing to swear under oath before a notary that you were not going to possess a gun, and that if you ever changed your mind you would notify the appropriate authorities. The laws passed in small towns requiring residents to own a gun more or less do that.
