Resources to study fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence)

What resources are there to study fiqh, particularly of the Sunni Hanafi and/or Maliki madhahib, for someone who neither knows Arabic nor is a specialist in *fiqh *(whether as a scholar of Islam or as a faqih, mufti, or qazi)?

What main resources are used by experts in fiqh? Are there any standard guides or volumes used?

I think there’s something called Fiqh as-Sunnah. I have something calling itself an abridged version of Fiqh as-Sunnah in English (from Pakistan), but it is very, very poorly written/compiled/put together.
