We’re talking about 0.5% here, or perhaps even lower. I wasn’t aware that we should make policy with less than 1% of a foreign public in mind. We don’t make domestic policy that way. In domestic policy, if 1% are pissed and willing to commit violence, you know what influence that has on our domestic policies? None. It shouldn’t, and won’t, have an effect on our foreign policy either.

I’m a little disturbed that this thread required more than one response. Are we going to have a thread about whether Jews are greedy next?

I’m no fan of Islam, but AK84 is exactly right in his narrow point here.

You could look at some more objective standards like “should people suffer legal penalties for changing their religion”. If you did that you’d find that a solid majority of people in some Muslim countries (like Egypt) should be killed or imprisoned for converting, but in some other countries they don’t.
