Rest in Peace, Captain Beefheart. Don Van Vliet died at 69.

Le Ministre de l’au-delà - post #13.

Thank you for that. I hadn’t come across it before: it’s brilliant.

“I’m not a rock star. I’m a soft person. I’m not a rock.”

  Are you discussing the Pro Wrestler from the 80’s?

I didn’t know he sang too?

ace, I think you have Captain Beefheart confused with “Captain” Lou Albano (who passed away in 2009).

Here’s part 1 of 6 parts of a BBC Documentary about Captain Beefheart, featuring Frank Zappa and Ry Cooder.

a unique voice left us, leaving some iconic records of its existence behind.

thanks for the links with the BBC documentary, fascinating to watch

Must be… There was also a Brutus Beefcake in wrestling. <shrug> anyhow, neither guy is Beefheart.

I listened to Rock N Roll since the early 70’s. Never heard of a Captain Beefheart . Someone earlier mentioned Frank Zappa. I avoided him and David Bowie. Never got into that branch of the Rock N Roll tree. If Beefheart was similar that would explain why I never heard of him.

Sorry for the hijack. Please Carry on …

Thank you so much, Captain. And remember, everybody…
May the Baby Jesus shut your mouth and open your mind.
