Restaurant recommendations in Dublin

So, I’m tasked with planning a dinner for 18 or 19 people (study abroad group, one student has had health issues and may or may not be able to continue with the program) in Dublin on the evening of June 18, and it has occurred to me that this is a Saturday and I should probably be making the reservations right about … now. I’m not a Dublin expert, and the restaurant we really liked last time I ran a study abroad program (Green 19) has gone all artsy and changed its name and started hiding the prices on their menu, which is never a good sign. So I figured I’d throw this one out to the Dope, hoping to find some locals or at least people with significant local expertise.

Here are our requirements:

– The restaurant needs, obviously, to be able to accommodate a large group (not necessarily all at the same table) and not likely to be booked out weeks in advance.
– Walking distance from Trinity College. Let’s say a 15-minute radius.
– Not too expensive; something where most mains are in the 20-25 Euro range would be ideal.
– Reasonably varied menu (we have no vegetarians / vegans, but there is one student with multiple food allergies, and a few who are just picky, so it would be good if everyone could find something that suits them).

Other than that, we’re pretty flexible. It does not need to be typically Irish food – we had Italian for the farewell dinner last time and everybody seemed happy with it, although the specific restaurant we went to is both too small and too far out of the city center to be ideal for the bigger group we have this time.

Doesn’t fulfil all your requirements but in our 3 days there we ate at the Bruxelles pub all three nights. Service, food, beer and atmosphere were all great.

The “oldest pub in Ireland” there (I forget the name) was worth a quick visit but that’s it.

Check out Boxty House:

I think it fits all your requirements, including a location very convenient to Trinity.

We really liked The Winding Stair

It’s right on the Liffey at the Ha’penny Bridge.

Ooh, thanks, everyone! I had a couple of possibilities bookmarked, but I suspect it’s going to be a good idea to have as many alternatives as possible, given the size of our group.

Not sure if it fits the OP but the Brazenhead Lower Bridge Street was quaint.
