Retail and stores not doing well (thread spin off) Canadian culture vs American culture?

Well this is sort of thread spin off:eek::eek::eek: but some people talk about the Canadian culture vs American culture playing apart. Where Americans buy more stuff and more consumerism culture than people in Canada. And it is true Americans like to buy things more than Canadians and lot of countries in the world.

The Americans have always had more stores per population ratio and even type of stores than Canadians.

So I tried to look up some stats to get better picture what is going on.

In US 2014 physical music was 32% others are streaming and downloads.

Global markets for buying and renting DVDs and Blu-rays.

Where in year 2015.

9.7 billion in US where 0.6 billion in Canada and 3.8 billion in Japan.

So it seems US as more of culture of buying and renting DVDs and Blu-rays than Canada!!! May explain why more stores in US.

Countries with most gamers

rank 3 U.S.A.: $74/person
rank 6 Canada: $54/person

rank 1 U.S.A.: $20.5 billion
rank 8 Canada: $1.7 billion

Seem Americans more into games than people in Canada.

Which country watches the most TV in the world?

Where Canada not even on top 15 countries in the world!!:smack::smack::eek::eek:

TV Sets: Average Number of TV Sets per TV Household (68 countries)
https://www.nakono.com/tekcarta/databank/tv-sets-average-number-of-tv-sets-per-tv-household/

2.8 in the US 2008
2.5 in Canada 2008

So seems base on the statistics that people in Canada are less consumerism than Americans when it comes to electronics thus less stores per per population ratio than in the US.

Where Americans more consumerism when it comes to electronics than people in Canada.

I think say Americans more into buying computers and TV’s than people in Canada.

I don’t see how any online shopping doing any harm to computers, TV’s, smartphones and tablets so on.
