Retired circus elephants move to new sanctuary in Florida

I saw this on the news this morning and I have to share it. Retired elephants from the Ringling Bros./Barnum and Bailey Circus have a spacious new sanctuary where they can roam and forage and bond with other elephants.

I think my childhood dog went there too.

An elephant sanctuary in an area which is primarily Republican? Makes sense.

As Seinfeld said, “My father retired and moved to Florida. He didn’t want to, but hey, it’s the law”.

I hope the elephants aren’t too close to my favorite rescue group. Wouldn’t want them to be tiger dinner.
