"Return of the Jedi" sucked

From a certain point of view.

Sorry if this has been posted already - the Endor Holocaust: STAR WARS: Endor Holocaust

Well, some people call him Maurice. I’m not exactly sure why, though.

If you’ve played Lego Star Wars, then exactly that. One Jedi can’t levitate himself, but two Jedi can levitate each other.

Jedi and TPM are the only Star Wars films which bore the fuck out of me. ROTS is to a degree another bore fest.
The only things I enjoy from Jedi are the speeder chase, Leia in a gold bikni, and the Luke/Vader scenes. The rest of the movie is forgettable.

Damn concise. I’ve always had a hate-on for Boba Fett, personally, and he makes his final appearance here, dying an accidental, dumb-ass death at the hands of a blind man. Not sure if that makes me LIKE or HATE the movie more. Ehh, he’s in it, so it makes me hate it.

Kee-RIST, the number of death stars in this friggin’ series. Does NO ONE have any new ideas?

I have enjoyed every Star Wars movie I’ve seen.

3 for 3 !

See, I quit watching after Empire Strikes Back, and only resumed with Rouge One,
So I have seen Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Rouge One.

So with that track record, should I stop? or if I try another which one should it be?

Those are generally viewed as the best ones. Next best is arguably Episode 7, but it rips off a lot of the plot of the original.

I liked Return of the Jedi (Ewoks and all), but I first saw it on VHS as a kid in the late '80s. My impression (reinforced by this thread) is that the folks who were old enough to see the original Star Wars in theaters were too old to enjoy the Ewoks in RotJ. But to heck with the haters. Find a copy with the original “Yub Nub” ending, embrace your inner eight year old, and enjoy!

As for the prequels, maybe the duel from the end of Ep. I is on youtube? Other than that, I say skip them altogether. Maybe some kid who watched them on DVD 10 years after they came out will tell you differently, though.

Watch Return of the Jedi

For one thing, in spite of the flaws pointed out above, it’s still a pretty good movie. Personally, I rank it higher than A New Hope, which drags in places.

And then, since you’ve seen the first two, I think it’s worth it to finish the original trilogy so that you get the whole picture.

A third death star? Nah, they’d never do that!..

It’s the one where the relationship between Luke and Vader pays off. It’s easily the best of the Trilogy.

Now Empire Strikes Back, that’s a shit movie. They put the climactic battle at the start, then nothing. Luke goes off to hang around in a swamp, the rest waste their time on an asteroid monster’s tongue, the stupidest and most pointless thing in the entire series, then they go off to a place which exists solely as a place for Han to get captured. The only thing of any importance after they leave Hoth is the I Am Your Father moment.

At least Return of the Jedi gave us a brilliant tie-in arcade game.
