Reverb in Both Directions: Journey song?

Calling all dopers with musical trivia chops:

I remember reading about a song, possibly by Journey, where the engineers played the drum track backwards and added reverb. I believe they also added reverb in the forward direction, so the drums had reverb before and after the attack. Can anyone identify this song and/or confirm that it was a song by Journey?

It’s a common studio technique going back to the Beatles and Joe Meek’s production.

I didn’t realize that. Can you give me examples? I’d like to hear what it sounds like. I’ve probably heard it a bunch and not realized that’s what I was hearing.

And of course I can’t think of a single example. The only thing I can think of off-hand is on the Smashing Pumpkins’ “Silverfuck,” the technique is done on Billy Corgan’s vocals on the “bang bang you’re dead/hole in your head” part in the middle.

I think the Journey song in question is “Don’t Stop Reverbin’.”

Somewhat related is the Beastie Boys’ backward beat in Paul Revere. Specific to the OP tho, I got nuthin.
