This. There’s nothing at all odd about the timing. SC showed that Klobuchar and Buttigieg didn’t have a chance, so they dropped out in time for their doing so to help their cause.

Elizabeth Warren was more of a “true Democrat” who could appeal to Pantsuit Nation/Resistance types better than Bernie. But she had zero appeal outside of that core, extremely loyal group of Dems.
At least he’d be a cranky revolutionary without a history of sexual assault. Bernie’s far from my first choice, but if Biden had stayed the fuck out, maybe a less morally reprehensible moderate could have emerged as the frontrunner. Instead, come November, I get to look forward to voting for the guy who’s attacked the fewest women. And then watching him lose to Donald fucking Trump.
On the bright side, there’s a good chance I’ll be dead of the plague or in a fire before that happens. So I got that going for me, at least.

I believe Joe Biden’s position on gun control and his implied endorsement of Beto “Hell yes we’re going to take them” O’Rourke’s platform, is every bit as stupid as Bernie’s praises of Castro.

This is such nonsense. The party is in step with Sanders on virtually every issue, as many polls attest. Establishment Democrats and the media succeed once again in making Democrats afraid of their shadows. Every four years they convince the Democratic electorate not to vote the way they actually want, but the way they think will make others happy. And then every four years their “safe” choice loses. The only “unsafe” choice in the last 30 years was Barack Obama (not because he was actually left-wing in a meaningful way, but because people thought he was and he’s black) and he won. The campaign slogan should be “Let’s lose with Joe!” because then we’ll be able to keep our cushy DNC jobs. The people pushing the “electability” narrative weren’t afraid Bernie would lose, they were afraid he would win and show them the door. Sigh, even if those of us with a sense of what it would actually take to win were able to nominate our preferred candidate all we would hear is “Oh, any Democrat could have beaten Trump (or whoever)” directly contradicting what we were told during the nominating process. And when the corporate militarist “moderate” loses it’s “Oh it was so close - but if the leftie had been nominated it would have been a blowout!”. What garbage…
