Revolution - Season Thread

additionaly, the nanobots had two functions -

a.) absorb electricity
b.) produce electricity

(a) was discovered during the attempts to create cheap/clean energy (b) and then weaponized by bald guy that just re-joined the show.

They didn’t, but since we now know it was magic nanobots that is easy enough: “we were looking to make non-fatal weapons so designed them to ignore electricity from biological sources.”

I don’t mind 200 quadrillion being the number she used since anything larger and most of the audience would have thought it a made up number like “a billion squillion of them.”

I’m willing to roll with it so long as now that they’ve provided an explanation what comes next works within the rules implies by the explanation. I expect it won’t, but who knows.

Yeah, mostly I was just curious to see if the writers bothered to do their homework. I couldn’t resist the temptation to reach for the calculator because that’s just how I roll.

I thought it was said the 2nd function was to reproduce themselves, not produce electricity. That’s how they got all over the world instead of just in Iraq or where ever they were being deployed.

Early on (up until the train episode anyway) it seemed like more than electricity was shut down, and any sort of internal combustion engine was out too. Wonder if I just misread things or if the creators changed their minds.

Wow magic healing tooby thingy can power an ancient mac (and somehow give it an old PC like green screen? weren’t all non-color macs b&w not green screen?) and knit bone together in seconds? Okaaaaaaaaaaay.

And who wants to bet on some season ending revelation that Uncle Miles is actually Daddy Miles.

The show is still dumb and unlikely but I am still watching it. I thought they were leading up to killing another character but not yet. Yes I guarantee you Miles is Charlie’s dad.

One thing I really wish they would quit is that high pitched sound at the end of every dramatic scene.

Whew, Monday’s episode was hard to watch with the torture. Pretty interesting development at the end with the hand grenade and the people in “the tower.”

Burning the book, what a bright idea, don’t try to study it, see if you can figure out the whole sky igniting thing or whatnot.

And holy crap, Neville’s coup, wow that guy’s a psychopath, he makes Monroe look well adjusted. This will not turn out well, methinks.

I never understood how this was supposed to help fight terrorists. So, they deploy it against a group that’s scattered by using it on nation that has a limited electrical grid. Also, your own units are still there. Sort of like dropping an atomic bomb on your own troops or using locusts on wandering desert nomads, depending on your view. Also, say, the idea did work, how did they expect to fight the terrorists afterwards? Getting those pendants to our soldiers afterwards, when they’re cut off from supplies and communications, hoping the horse messenger gets through.

Rachel is a frustrating character, is she going to kill Monroe or not? Guess the answer is not. I can’t decide whether she is a good guy or bad guy.

It is about time for this show to let another character die. There is a ridiculous amount of bullet-dodging and last minute saves. In fact that seems to be the character dvelopment in this show, save someone from getting killed and you are sort of friends again. For now.

Did anyone get a Supernatural vibe from that opening montage? I swear, all it needed was to replace whatever song that was with Carry On My Wayward Son.

Yup. As soon as the episode began I said to my wife, “You can tell Eric Kripke works on this show.”

Interesting setup for next season, this finale.
